I have a wide array of capabilities in a multitude of different subjects, because I majored in music and graduated with a bachelor's degree from William Jewell College. Not surprisingly then, tutoring and studying are some of the things I enjoy doing. Among the many subjects that I have studied, math is one of my favorites. During my high school years, friends would frequently come and ask for help with their problems; I always agreed and they came away with better understanding of how to solve their problems. One subject in particular within the realm of math has always captured my interest: calculus. Many are scared of calculus, but I love showing people the ropes. It's easy to show people that calculus really isn't all that difficult once you know how and what to do.Another area of interest is helping students with tests that everyone hates; I'm talking about tests like the ACT or the SAT. Making sure the student I am helping is calm and receptive to learning is important to me, so I make sure to maintain a positive and calm atmosphere. From my experience, it's very easy to see the change in a student's outlook once they start enjoying what they're doing; teaching in this fashion always makes me motivated.
