Experience
I graduated from the Sign Language Interpreting program at Maple Woods Community College, where I earned my A.A.S. In the time since I graduated, I've primarily worked as an elementary school educator. I also had the opportunity to teach Baby Sign as part of a community program, and have taught families of deaf children how to achieve better communication through sign language. I strongly believe in having a good education. I feel that is one of the best ways available to ensure that we have many choices throughout our lives. I think that there is something to learn in every situation. My strongest subject is math, but I am also very experienced with the writing, phonics, and reading taught to elementary school students. I also spent one year in middle school education and was able to work a deaf student and a young English Language Learner from China. When I have free time, I like to spend my time with family, especially my young grandchild. I also enjoy pursuing creative hobbies like painting and drawing. I have completed artwork for other educators at my school, ranging from murals that they've used in their sons' and daughters' rooms at home to posters for the classroom.
